thesciverse is built on a simple principle: science journalism should be accurate, independent, and trustworthy. This page explains exactly how we operate.
Source Standards
Every article published on thesciverse is based on research that meets at least one of the following:
- Published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal
- Presented at a major scientific conference with published abstracts
- Released as a preprint, clearly disclosed as preliminary and not yet peer-reviewed
We always link directly to the original source.
Writing Standards
Accuracy over impact. We do not exaggerate findings to make them sound more dramatic. If a study shows correlation, we say correlation — not causation. If results are early-stage, we say so clearly.
No clickbait. Headlines reflect what the research actually found. We do not use sensational language or overstate significance.
Scientific context. A single study is rarely the whole story. Where relevant, we situate findings within the broader landscape of existing research.
Corrections Policy
We correct errors as soon as they are identified.
- Minor corrections — made with a note at the bottom of the article
- Significant corrections — disclosed prominently at the top of the article
- Major inaccuracies — may result in retraction with a full public explanation

Sponsored content never influences our independent editorial decisions.
Editorial Independence
thesciverse has no financial arrangements with research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, or technology firms that would compromise our editorial judgment. Coverage decisions are made solely on the basis of scientific significance and quality.

Some articles may be drafted with the assistance of AI writing tools. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by our editorial team before publication. Human editors are responsible for every published piece.
